From MELT ME to RANDOme
Melt Me – Palermo, I-Design 2015
MELT ME, one of the ideas developed at the Laboratory of Industrial Design (by Dario Russo – UNIPA) by the student Luca Pellerito, on display at ZAC, October 13 to 25, was still a prototype; elegant, fun and multifunctional. But the number of components, the material (mostly wood), the secondary function (“fondutiera” – contact of the materials with heat sources), prevented MELT ME from becoming a product. It was necessary to reduce its diameter and increase its height. The box of chocolates (even the lantern and “fondutiera”) was made into a bottle container, the element of a modular stochastic structure, the singular space of a wine cellar door: RANDOme, a new product on MYOP.
